UPS and the Postal Service are looking to make shipping more efficient and reduce shipping costs for the millions of customers who depend on their services every day.
As the post office grapples with the fallout from the Sept. 11 attacks and the global recession, UPS and Fedex are ramping up efforts to make the process of delivering packages more efficient.
The companies say they can provide a faster and more convenient way to deliver packages to customers than by air, which can take up to two weeks.
The UPS/Fedex partnership is one of the largest in the nation, and it includes both delivery and delivery services.
UPS will deliver packages through its new FedEx Global Priority Service, and FedEx will deliver its Global Priority Services.
The service allows UPS and other carriers to move packages to and from locations with the least traffic and reduce costs, said Kevin Kostecki, president and CEO of UPS.
The two companies said they have already had positive feedback from customers who said they preferred their options to air, and they expect that trend to continue.
For now, UPS is focusing on getting the new FedEx services rolling in New York City, Boston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and the rest of the Northeast.
Kostescki said the two companies will continue to work together to improve the delivery process for all customers.
FedEx says it plans to offer its new Global Priority services nationwide by the end of the year.
“We’re seeing a lot of success with our Global Priority service,” said Paul Voss, chief marketing officer for FedEx Global Marketing, which oversees the Global Priority program.
It also helps them deliver to customers who live outside the United States. “
The companies said the Global Service is more than just a new way to get packages from a particular point to a customer’s door.
It also helps them deliver to customers who live outside the United States.
The Global Priority network will help reduce travel time and improve the efficiency of shipping, Voss said.”
